On Monday, April 17th Mossy Oak Properties Iowa Broker Tyler Boley and Mossy Oak Properties Iowa Director of Marketing and Design, Heidi Bainbridge attended a Lunch and Learn on Social Media for Small Businesses put on by the Albia Chamber of Commerce.

Samantha Boyd from Zao525 spoke to the group of business leaders from Southeast Iowa and provided a wealth of information about why small businesses should be using social media. She shared great information how these small businesses can utilize social media for their marketing on a limited budget.

Some of the facts we found interesting were:

  • Nearly 2.1 billion of the worlds 7.2 billion people have social media accounts
  • 5 million tweets are sent daily
  • 70 million photos/videos are posted daily on Instagram
  • Facebook adds 1/2million users EACH DAY!

Samantha shared with the group six steps for getting started with Social Media:

  1. Determine which channels make the most sense for your brand and audience.
  2. Make a plan and stick with it for the long run.
  3. Join, complete and optimize your profile.
  4. Grow your network.
  5. Interact with your audience.
  6. Review, measure and maintain or modify your strategy.

Broker Ty Boley was encouraged by the information and felt like there were a lot of opportunities for Mossy Oak Properties to enhance what they are currently doing with their social media marketing based on the new information provided by Samantha.
